The Godfather

Tucked in the corner of a small, unassuming strip mall is The GodfatherRestaurant. No, not the pizza place from back in the day – this is a top shelf, fancy Italian restaurant. Located in Kearny Mesa on Clairemont Mesa Blvd between Mercury and Convoy. You wouldn’t know it from the outside, but it’s a really high end place. Impeccable service with waiters in tuxedos, etc. Old school, classic, dark atmosphere. Very romantic. Expect a bill for two, with “drinks” to approach Ben Franklin territory.Since it was my first time there, I chose a more basic dish, Spaghetti Alla Bolognese. I think “bolognese” is just a fancy Italian term for “hearty meat sauce”. Lady FoodObs had a beautiful New York Strip with side of pasta and whatnot. Everything was outstanding.
