Italian Cucina

My new favorite dish at Barona Casino’s Italian Cucina is the baked penne pasta! Creamy vodka tomato sauce with Italian sausage and Parmesan. The whole thing is baked off with a thin layer of mozzarella on the top and just outstanding.

The Par Lounge

I totally missed National Pizza Day yesterday! But hey, I love a good pizza any day of the year! So here’s a fine specimen from The Par Lounge in Ramona.

Panera Bread

Decent broccoli cheddar soup and an outstanding fresh baguette at Panera Bread in Coronado.

Galley at the Marina

Casual waterfront dining on south San Diego Bay in the Chula Vista marina. Galley at the Marina is a great restaurant, bar and grill ideal for a leisurely lunch, sunset dinner, or weekend breakfast. I had the classic fish & chips which were just excellent. A generous portion that included slaw. If it wasn’t an hour from home we’d go more often for sure…

Outstanding Spicy Deluxe Chicken Sammich at Chick-fil-A. The cooling touch of mayonnaise is a must on this one! Boneless breast of juicy chicken, seasoned with a spicy blend of peppers, on a toasted, buttered bun with pickles, lettuce, mater, and pepper jack cheese.

Panda Express

Outstanding new five flavor shrimp thing at Panda Express! Also the best orange chicken and chow mein in Chinese fast food.

Something Delicious

Outstanding pre-performance theater dinner recently, catered by Something Delicious. Kitty Brisendine’s personal chef service has been just phenomenal the few times I’ve experienced it. This was a perfectly cooked citrus chicken with roasted fennel & root vegetables along with the tastiest cold asparagus & tomato salad. Also a tremendous lemon blueberry cheesecake parfait with an excellent dessert wine!

The dinner was brilliantly hosted at Hatfield Creek Vineyards & Winery. One of the best wineries in Ramona, that I can tell you!

Taco Bell

Is it dessert or is it breakfast? It’s both if you ask me! These Cinnabon Delights are some of the best things I’ve put in my mouth at Taco Bell. Hot cinnamon spheres filled with a warm icing center that just pops when you eat it.
