‘Rita’s Cantina

Recently had a great stay at Harrah’s Resort Southern California. One of the biggest standouts for me (other than the best lazy river) was the remarkable Mexican cuisine at ‘Rita’s Cantina. Here’s the outstanding Combination Plate #3. Steak Tampiquena, enchilada and tequila shrimp. Can’t wait to come back here for a few days.

Pei Wei Asian Diner

I don’t think it’s on their menu anymore, but this Thai curry dish was very tasty!

Mi Sonora Querida Foodtruck

Recently tried the Mi Sonora Querida Foodtruck! Without a doubt, the best Mexican food I’ve had in Ramona. That, I can tell you. The food here is predominantly mariscos (seafood) style. There’s a nice selection of tacos, tostadas, soups, seafood cocktails, quesadillas and burritos. I’ll post a photo of their menu in the comments.

I ordered a camaron (shrimp) taco and a marlin taco. Both were outstanding! Authentic flavors, ingredients and cooking methods were certainly evident here. Everything was fresh tasting and affordable. This food truck is legit! Don’t hesitate to give it a shot sometime. Located at 1252 Main Street in the Sambas Liquor parking lot. Open Wednesday – Sunday, 11am-9pm.

Eastbound Bar & Grill

Recently tried Eastbound Bar & Grill in beautiful downtown Lakeside! We absolutely fell in love with this place! I really like a good loaded fries type dish so we went in for one of their “Skillet Fries” creations. This is the Carne Asada Chipotle Cheese. Fries blanketed with melted cheddar jack, chipotle sauce and carne asada. Outstanding! Also shown below is The Rodeo burger. Fatty half pounder with cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce and two crispy onion rings. And you can’t go wrong with 26 beers on tap! There’s something for everyone here.

Domino’s Pizza

Still one of my favorite chain pizza stores, even when they miss about a quarter of the pie with topping love! 😫

Phil’s BBQ

Outstanding quarter chicken dinner plate at Phil’s BBQ in Rancho Bernardo! My favorite thing on this plate has to be that mac salad. Best I’ve had in SoCal!

Taco Bell

I love a good wet burrito and have had many throughout SoCal over the years. When I discovered that the Bell had a smothered burrito, I had to try it. It was surprisingly tasty! I’d recommend ordering this but I don’t think it’s on their menu anymore.

Which Wich

Everyone knows I love a good Cobb salad! When I discovered this Cobb salad wrap at Which Wich I had to try it. Includes sliced chicken, smoked thick-cut bacon, boiled egg, blue cheese, fresh avocado, lettuce, maters and ranch dressing wrapped in a spinach tortilla. I’m not a fan of the green tortilla but I got through it just fine. Really, it tasted outstanding. I really appreciated being able to eat a Cobb salad without a fork.

I just love the fact that I can go to Which Wich, place a complicated order with their brown bag thing & sharpies and never have to speak a word! Just hand it to the lady behind the counter, pay and they get going on your order.

BBQ Chicken

Outstanding homemade BBQ chicken legs from my trusty Weber kettle! Paired perfectly with some Sweet Baby Ray’s and a nice, cold Modelo Especial.

On the Border

I’ve never been a fan of French fries in Mexican food, but these California tacos at OTB are excellent!
