RFN has an extraordinary selection of pre-made salads and sandwiches! This time I tried the delicious “Robb Jr Salad”. Their creative version of a traditional Cobb salad. Made with organic romaine lettuce, natural hard boiled eggs, maters, onion, natural smoked turkey breast, blue cheese and an excellent creamy vinaigrette. The only thing missing is bacon and avocado. Only $7.49, this outstanding salad ate like a meal! Perfect for grab & go or enjoy on their beautiful patio.

Not sure if it’s still on their menu, but these so-called ribeye burgers at JIB are outstanding! I think there’s three varieties to choose from. I ordered the one with blue cheese, grilled onions, etc. Pretty top-shelf for a fast food burger. This was the Rancho Bernardo location, so your mileage may vary.

Pei Wei Asian Kitchen

Outstanding Teriyaki Crunch Roll at Pei Wei! Mango California Roll topped with crunchy tempura flakes, drizzled with sweet teriyaki sauce and wasabi aioli.

Follow up visit to my new back country favorite! Tried the smoked wings at JBC and they were outstanding! For my Ramona peeps, JBC will be in town tomorrow night for a tap takeover at Reds, Whites & Brews!

Outstanding fried chicken tender appetizer at Yard House in Palmdale! Unfortunately the lumpia was terrible. Being Oktoberfest though made everything right.

Outstanding order of chicken & waffles at Waffle Kitchen in Palmdale! This was a really impressive restaurant! Pizza, beer, happy hour, too? My kind of place! I was stopping for breakfast on my way out of town. I’ll have to check them out for dinner (HH) next time.

Taco Bell

One of my favorite things to order at the Bell for breakfast are these tasty mini skillet bowl things! Tremendous value at only a buck and super tasty. Made with scrambled eggs, taters, nacho cheese and pico de gallo. I always have them add either seasoned ground beef or steak to make it a perfect meal.

Gaetano’s Italian Restaurant

We recently tried Gaetano’s down in Lakeside and it was outstanding! Upon arriving it seemed like we might need a tetanus shot before going inside. Just look at that sign! It was legit Lakeside, that I can tell you. Once inside though I was totally impressed! A modern, clean, comfortable, welcoming and top-shelf environment.

Food was excellent! I had the spaghetti with meat sauce, meatball and sausage. Pasta was al dente; sauce was rich, hearty and flavorful. Bread service was decent. Salad was just mediocre. Jr had the lasagna. It looked very good although I didn’t try it.

In business for over 37 years, Gaetano’s is an east county institution! Definitely worth checking out if you’ve never been.
