Airport Stromboli

At Cleveland airport. Shouldn’t have gotten this. Feels like lead in my stomach. I think they put it in the oven for show. It was barely room temp.

Stromboli revisited

Normally I try to avoid reposting the same thing. This time however I was able to get a good cross-section shot. Shown here is one of my Stromboli sections kept warm in the oven from Ramona Lisa’s down the street.

Stromboli to go

This was from the little pizza dive down the road from home. First time I’ve had Stromboli I think. It was excellent! Filled with ham, salami, pepperoni, green peppers and cheeses with a little bit of sauce. Folded up in pizza dough, not like calzone, but over and on top of itself. I’ll be having this again…

Ramona Lisa Pizza

Recently I had an outstanding stromboli from Ramona Lisa Pizza. It was markedly better than previous versions I’ve had under prior ownership. Made with pepperoni, ham, salami, bell pepper, mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce for only $10.99.

Roughly the size of a small throw pillow, it’s the perfect sized meal for two. There did appear to be some unfortunate moisture weepage at the base, so be sure to elevate the stromboli to prevent a soggy bottom. Oddly, the side sauce was stone cold, but it was just as well. The sauce cooked inside was the perfect amount without any extra side.

Overall an excellent pizzeria comfort food that I would order again in a heartbeat.

Homemade pizza dough

Tonight was pizza and Stromboli with prosciutto and onions. My wife opted for pineapple on her half. Not sure why…
