Cracker Barrel

Tasty breakfast at the Yuma Cracker Barrel before making the drive up to Jerome. Hash brown casserole, biscuits & gravy, smoked sausage patties and two eggs with overcooked edges. Did not need lunch that day. Imagine my surprise and delight upon discovering that you can now order a mimosa at the Barrel! Good thing Lady Food Obs was driving.

Road trip to Las Vegas! The perfect half way point to stop for breakfast is the new Cracker Barrel in Victorville.

Cracker Barrel

Last March we embarked upon a great road trip to Southern Utah! Zion National Park, Springdale, etc. After about 8 hours of driving we made it to St. George and had an outstanding dinner at the Barrel. Excellent grilled rainbow trout with a side of mac & cheese, hash brown casserole and hot biscuits!

Cracker Barrel

Excellent “Old Timers Breakfast” at the Cracker Barrel in beautiful Prescott Valley, Arizona!

Cracker Barrel

I cannot think of a better road trippin’ breakfast spot than Cracker Barrel! Here we are leaving Gallup, NM on Memorial Day morning. I just loved all the patriotic bunting they had out. I’ve had better versions of “Old Timer’s Breakfast” at other Barrel’s, but this one still hit the spot!

Cracker Barrel

Last May, FoodObs family embarked on a fun road trip from San Diego to Oklahoma! The next 15 or so blog posts will chronicle the gastronomic aspects of that trip. I’ll even add a few extra ancillary photos from along the way.

We met friends for dinner at Cracker Barrel in Prescott Valley, AZ. Such a nice town. The meatloaf was outstanding! I have to say, I recently tried the meatloaf at Black Bear Diner and was disappointed. The Barrel definitely has it going on when it comes to the loaf!

Some additional fun pics: driving north through middle-of-nowhere Arizona…

Cracker Barrel

A week in Yuma wouldn’t be complete without at least two trips to Cracker Barrel for breakfast! This time “Uncle Herschel’s Favorite” with a big, beautiful slab of country ham.

Cracker Barrel

Round two at the Barrel, this time for breakfast! I usually order the “Old Timers Breakfast”. Smoked sausage patties, hash brown casserole, hen fruit, hot biscuits & gravy, delicious grits. Always outstanding.

Cracker Barrel

Outstanding fried catfish & hush puppies at Cracker Barrel in Yuma, AZ! I always choose my three favorite vegetables, mac & cheese, hash brown casserole and fried okra. It all finished off nicely with some delicious hot biscuits.

Cracker Barrel

On the way back from Big Bear we drove the circuitous route through Victorville, CA! Had to check out the first Cracker Barrel in the state of California! I never thought I’d see the day. It’s finally a reality with more locations scheduled to open in the Golden State. The architecture and decor are definitely a refreshing departure from all the traditional Barrels we’ve been to east of the Colorado River.
