Sidny’s Bagels & Deli

Outstanding #15 (turkey, ham & Swiss) at Sidny’s in Rancho Bernardo! This place is a great New York style deli offering a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu.

Jersey Mike’s

The ubiquitous #13 (add mayonnaise) at Jersey Mike’s in Rancho Bernardo! Perfection in a sandwich as far as I’m concerned.

Summers Deli

Nestled at the base of a non-descript commercial building in Rancho Bernardo is Summers Deli. I have been eating here for almost 20 years. This is a no-frills deli that is open to the public and services the lunch hungry among all the tech companies in the Via Del Campo area. Some of my favorite things to order include the roast beef sammich or tuna salad on white (both pictured below) or their delicious Torpedo Italiano on toasted French roll. Everything is made to order and service is top-shelf. They’re open for breakfast and lunch every weekday. They even offer a nice looking selection of pre-made salads for grab & go. What I really appreciate are the several reserved deli parking spots right outside their front door!

Rock n’ Jenny’s Italian Subs

An Escondido institution since 1989, Rock n’ Jenny’s is one of my new favorite sandwich shops! They specialize in east coast style Italian grinders on warm, crusty Italian rolls with homemade Italian dressing and delicious pepperoncinis. I ordered one of their signature subs called “Ultimate Mafia Marriage”. Made with mortadella, salami, pepperoni, capicola & provolone. It was truly outstanding! Can’t wait to go back and try something new.

Jersey Mike’s

The ubiquitous sammich for me that exemplifies Jersey Mike’s has to be their #13 Original Italian! This is a legit Jersey-style Italian sub, made with provolone cheese, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni. Just outstanding, especially when ordered Mike’s way (plus mayonnaise).

Which Wich

The “Italian Club” at WW was a tasty sammich. Unfortunately any protein substance beyond the bacon seemed scarce.

Board & Brew

“Tom’s Choice” at Board & Brew is supposed to feature freshly baked roast beef and turkey breast! Unfortunately it seems like beef was an endangered species at this location. Not impressed.

Jack in the Box

These “Pannido” things at JIB were pretty tasty! The Deli Trio (first photo) was definitely the best. The turkey/bacon/cheddar was more of a Panni-Don’t. I’m not even sure they’re still on the menu.

Quizno’s

Sadly, Quizno’s is becoming more and more scarce. Here are the last couple of sandwiches I enjoyed at our beloved Ramona, CA location before they closed a couple months ago. Outstanding Turkey Ranch & Swiss and my favorite Classic Italian.

Subway

The Spicy Italian is probably the only thing I can tolerate at Subway anymore. Much has been said about the length of their bread. Honestly I couldn’t care less if my bread is 12″, 10″, or 9″! As long as I get 12″ worth of meat, cheese and mayonnaise!
