Wasa Sushi Bar & Grill

Definitely the most stunning teriyaki chicken bowl I’ve ever been served! Congratulations to Wasa Susie on their recent grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony! If you haven’t checked this place out yet, you’re missing out. One of my new favorite restaurants in Ramona.

Carl’s Jr.

Surprisingly tasty grilled chicken salad thing at Carls’ Jr. Would have been nice if they’d have chopped up them maters somewhat.

Jersey Mike’s

The ubiquitous sammich for me that exemplifies Jersey Mike’s has to be their #13 Original Italian! This is a legit Jersey-style Italian sub, made with provolone cheese, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni. Just outstanding, especially when ordered Mike’s way (plus mayonnaise).

La Cocina

Outstanding chicken & rice burrito from La Cocina in Ramona, CA!

The Oaks Grille

I didn’t have a hangover, but “The Hangover” omelette at The Oaks Grille was excellent. Made with sausage, jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, etc. During their weekend champagne brunch I usually go for the benny. I mixed it up this time and was impressed. Eggs not over cooked, perfectly crispy and hot hash browns. The avocado presentation could have been better, but overall a great dish. Paired perfectly with two complimentary glasses of champagne!

Lienzo Charro

Like Ramona, most of Poway’s Mexican restaurants are just varying degrees of mediocre. Lienzo Charro on the other hand is usually a standout for us. Here is their beautiful “Carne Asada del Charro”. Strips of succulent filet mignon, grilled to perfection, served with with a cheese enchilada, guacamole, salsa fresca and hot tortillas.

Victor’s Kafe

Outstanding Chicken Shawerma (pronounced “shower-ma”) pita sandwich at Victor’s in Rancho Bernardo!

Ottavio’s Italian Restaurant

Excellent “Seafood Marinara” at Ottavio’s in Lakeside! Thoughtfully prepared with jumbo shrimps, clams, mussels, scallops, etc., all sautéed in olive oil, garlic, basil & marinara sauce, tossed with linguine. Plus one of the best tasting dinner salads in east county.

Tony Pepperoni Pizzeria

Outstanding Hot Italian Sub at Tony Pepperoni! Made with salami, ham, melted mozzarella, lettuce, maters, onion & Italian dressing. Definitely among the best tasting I’ve had. Tony Pepperoni Pizzeria is a terrific mom & pop style Pizzeria/sports bar. They serve great sandwiches, salads and of course pizzas. There’s several locations throughout SoCal. I go to the one located in a small shopping center nestled in a quiet neighborhood right in between Rancho Bernardo and Carmel Mountain Ranch.
