Hacienda Casa Blanca

Outstanding Barbacoa at Hacienda Casa Blanca in El Cajon! Chunks of tender beef slow-cooked in their rich, spicy red chile sauce.

Pernicano’s

A SoCal institution for generations! Outstanding spaghetti with Italian sausage and meatball at Pernicano’s in El Cajon.

Outback Steakhouse

Queensland Chicken & Shrimp at Outback Steakhouse. This dish used to be good back in the day. Not so much now… Seems far more institutional.

Outback Steakhouse

New roasted garlic filet medallions and fried mac & cheese bites at Outback Steakhouse. Both were outstanding!

Grandstand Pizza

Grandstand Pizza makes an outstanding pie! Occasionally though they skimp on the toppings, but the pizzas are still really good! They clearly use really high quality ingredients and employ good cooking techniques. The crust here is definitely the star. I really appreciate how you can actually taste the cheese!

Tres Taqueria

Excellent order of rolled tacos at Tres Taqueria in El Cajon!

Mary Etta’s Cafe

Outstanding breakfasts at Mary Etta’s!  This country diner is an east county institution just outside of El Cajon.

Greek Chicken

Probably some of the best, most flavorful Greek chicken I’ve ever put in my mouth!  Greek Chicken is a small chain of Greek restaurants in San Diego’s east county for 30 years.   They offer a wide variety of foods including their famous lemon-seasoned chicken, gyros and chicken pitas.  Authentic Greek salads, kabob plates and gyro plates round it all out.  Voted best Greek restaurant in San Diego for 2015, definitely worth checking out.
