Embassy Suites

First of all, that is salsa on my eggs, NOT chup LOL! Sometimes at Embassy Suites I forego the pomp & circumstance of cooked to order omelettes, etc., and head straight to the serve yourself breakfast buffet. Nicely done pre-made fare here, despite those institutional, cubed taters that I’m not really a fan of. I’ve stayed at many Embassy Suites across the country and some are more modern than others. This one in Tempe, AZ was clearly a ’70’s refurb property. I will say though, the outside courtyard pool area was very nice!

Just after crossing into Texas on I-40 the interstate came to a complete halt! It was literally a parking lot for hours. It did not help that we were in a bad cell area either. Fortunately we brought old fashioned paper maps with us! Remember those? Anyway, we were able to chart an alternate course that got us to Amarillo, albeit much later than expected. It was really nice driving those farm roads through the beautiful Texas countryside and farm land. I have never seen 2-lane highways that were so straight, flat and long!

We finally made it to the Embassy Suites in Amarillo. It was pretty late so we just had dinner at the hotel. I have to say, all the Embassy Suites in-house restaurants I’ve been to across the country have always been top shelf! Here in Amarillo it was no different. Their hotel restaurant is called “1887 Social House”. I ordered an outstanding Pressed Cuban Sandwich! Smoked pulled pork, hickory ham, butter pickles, Swiss cheese and mustard aioli pressed all panini style. I’ve had many Cuban sammiches in my day and I don’t think I’ve ever had one so stacked and delicious!

Outstanding cooked to order breakfast at Embassy Suites in El Segundo!

Outstanding smoked turkey club sammich at 1440 Bistro & Bar inside Embassy Suites LAX South in El Segundo, CA! One of the best tasting and most thoughtfully constructed sandwiches I’ve ever been served in a hotel restaurant. Everything is sliced so thick, from the turkey, to the bacon, to the cheese. You can really taste it all nicely in each bite. One of my top three menu picks whenever I eat here. Love their hot & crispy waffle fries too.

Excellent Caesar salad with grilled chicken at 1440 Bistro & Bar inside the Embassy Suites in El Segundo. Still one of my favorite hotel restaurants.

1440 Bistro and Bar

Outstanding fish & chips at the Embassy Suites in El Segundo! Hot, crispy and love those waffle fries. One of my favorite things to order at 1440 Bistro and Bar.

1440 Bistro and Bar

Probably one of the best hotel restaurants I’ve eaten at across the nation! 1440 Bistro inside Embassy Suites LAX South in El Segundo is a remarkable standout. Menu is fairly short but what they make is just excellent. Quality and attention to detail like few places I’ve experienced. Here’s an outstanding Smoked Turkey Club. Made with bacon, gruyere cheese, avocado, mayo, little gem lettuce, and mater on ciabatta.
