Pizza Nova

Outstanding happy hour personal pizza and one of the best Caesar salads I’ve put in my mouth! One of the rare times I eat mushrooms. When thinly sliced on top of a pizza. At Pizza Nova in San Marcos.

Yard House

Outstanding fried chicken tender appetizer at Yard House in Palmdale! Unfortunately the lumpia was terrible. Being Oktoberfest though made everything right.

Players Sports Bar

One of the best tasting and most affordable happy hour pizzas in SoCal! This time I ordered it with jalapeƱos and man was it stacked! There was no amount of Tucks Pads that could have prepared me for this!

Hello Betty Fish House

One of my favorite happy hour spots in Oceanside is Hello Betty Fish House! Stunning open air views of the beach with a top-shelf yet casual vibe. I enjoyed a few small plates, including an outstanding fish & chips plus tasty street taco things with huge daubs of guac! Their clam chowder was pretty average though.

Claim Jumper

Outstanding wedge salad at CJ! They have one of the best happy hours in SoCal with a thoughtful collection of small plates.

Nuevo Grill & Cantina

Love happy hour at Nuevo Grill! My fave on the HH menu continues to be the taquitos. Only $3.50, it’s their excellent carne asada meat chopped up, mixed with jalapeƱo and their red enchilada sauce, all grilled up, then hand-rolled into these tasty stubby chubbies… M-F 3-6p, worth a visit (depending on what you order). Plus the dollar off drink specials and outstanding chips & salsa.

Buster’s Beach House

Outstanding happy hour appetizers at Busters. Here’s the chicken wings, onions strings and mac & cheese.  Great place to stop when visiting Seaport Village in San Diego!

North County Tavern Bowl

They call this “Spare Chicken” at Tavern Bowl.  Outstanding appetizer of fried chicken tenders with fries for only $2.95 during happy hour.

Kaminski’s BBQ & Sports Lounge

Great place for happy hour, especially the big, meaty chicken wings!  Outstanding garlic fries too.  They came out very hot and crispy.

Brigantine Seafood

On a recent trip to The Brig we sampled some tasty happy hour fare.  The onion rings were excellent, came out hot and crispy.  The calamari was a bit sad and limp for a “seafood” restaurant.  Quite institutional in fact, coming out in stick form.  I’m not gonna sugar coat it!  I felt like I ordered them from a bowling alley snack bar.  The highlight of the evening was definitely the outstanding tacos made with a generous amount of tender, flavorful braised beef short rib meat.
