The Oaks Grille

Outstanding “Bulldog” Omelette at The Oaks Girl in Ramona! Filled with bacon, sausage, ham, onion, cheddar & jack cheese. The beautifully cooked omelette is then blanketed with their excellent country gravy. I was hesitant at first about this combination but it was surprisingly good. I highly recommend.

The Oaks Grille

(Visited November 2, 2019) Outstanding Denver Omelette for champagne brunch at The Oaks Grille in Ramona, CA!

The Oaks Grille

I didn’t have a hangover, but “The Hangover” omelette at The Oaks Grille was excellent. Made with sausage, jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, etc. During their weekend champagne brunch I usually go for the benny. I mixed it up this time and was impressed. Eggs not over cooked, perfectly crispy and hot hash browns. The avocado presentation could have been better, but overall a great dish. Paired perfectly with two complimentary glasses of champagne!

Embassy Suites

Outstanding cooked to order breakfast at Embassy Suites in El Segundo!

Hunny’s Cafe

Outstanding Denver omelette with crispy hash browns at Hunny’s Cafe in Lake Elsinore!

Mariscos Mar de Cortez

Had an outstanding meal at Mariscos Mar de Cortez this morning. I selected from the “American Style” breakfast menu. This part of the menu has eggs, various omelettes, and hotcakes with traditional sides. I ordered the Denver omelette. Filled with diced ham, cheese, small amount of onions and a few long strips of red bell pepper. This bad boy comes out huge! I appreciated that it was cooked perfectly. Not all overcooked, dry and brown. The omelettes are served with hashbrowns (decent) and toast for only $7.99. The toast was pretty uninspiring however. Basic white bread with some random dots of melted butter. My #1 recommendation for breakfast there remains the Chilaquiles. Just excellent. Also their Machaca plate is good, even if on the mild side.

Hotel breakfast

Last one this week. At the Embassy Suites LAX South. Excellent made to order fare. Ham and cheese omelette and Mickey Mouse hotcakes. Must be back in CA!
