The Incredible Cafe

Outstanding Reuben Sandwich at The Incredible Cafe in Rancho Bernardo! Not all stacked like a traditional Jewish deli, but delicious nonetheless. This place is an incredibly charming cafe in North San Diego County that has been featured on Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible.

Sherman’s Deli

Outstanding grilled pastrami Reuben at Sherman’s Deli! This place is an absolute institution in the Coachella Valley! Two locations, in Palm Springs and Palm Desert, I love coming here every time I’m in the area. Classic old school deli that makes you articulate your jaw!

Way Point Saloon

Outstanding Reuben sammich at Way Point Saloon/UTHG recently! I’m not gonna sugarcoat it… It was a pretty conservative amount of meat. This wasn’t stacked all fatty like some old school Jewish deli. What corned beef was there was really good though. Sliced to the perfect thickness, very flavorful and free of oral anomalies. Had a nice mouth feel!

The sauerkraut and melted Swiss were well proportioned and evenly distributed. Thick-sliced marble rye was perfectly grilled and fresh tasting. Didn’t get all sogged out on the bottom like many hot sandwiches do. Thousand island dressing was thoughtfully served on the side so as not to turn the whole thing into a hot mess! I appreciated that. $11.95 with choice of side.
