Outstanding order of rolled tacos recently from Mi Ranchito! Topped with a very tasty creamy guacamole Americano and a liberal amount of shredded cheese. All of it sitting on a bed of fresh looking shredded iceberg lettuce. Mi Ranchito rolled tacos are made with ground beef vice shredded beef. Although some may scoff, I actually prefer ground beef in my rolled tacos. Good clean bites every time. At some places the shredded beef is rolled too tightly and I’m always pulling out long slugs of meat with each bite, leaving an unfortunate hollow tortilla tube.

El Taco Loco Shop

Quite possibly the best order of rolled tacos in Ramona, CA! At El Taco Loco Shop inside Ramona Market. Their guacamole substance is somewhat loose in consistency, but I appreciate that they cover just about every square millimeter of my taquitos.

Outstanding dinner recently at Lienzo Charro in Poway! This place is a Poway institution, in business for more than a generation. Here’s a #10 combination plate; rolled tacos and cheese enchilada. Really good. Unfortunately their draft Modelo Especial wasn’t cold enough.

Love happy hour at Nuevo Grill! My fave on the HH menu continues to be the taquitos. Only $3.50, it’s their excellent carne asada meat chopped up, mixed with jalapeño and their red enchilada sauce, all grilled up, then hand-rolled into these tasty stubby chubbies… M-F 3-6p, worth a visit (depending on what you order). Plus the dollar off drink specials and outstanding chips & salsa.

Outstanding rolled taco appetizer at Don Diego’s of Indian Wells. Also one of the most stunning Mexican restaurant dining rooms I’ve been in.
