Mi Ranchito Taco Shop

Outstanding order of rolled tacos recently from Mi Ranchito! Topped with a very tasty creamy guacamole Americano and a liberal amount of shredded cheese. All of it sitting on a bed of fresh looking, shredded iceberg lettuce. Mi Ranchito rolled tacos are made with ground beef vice shredded beef. Although some may scoff, I actually prefer ground beef in my rolled tacos. Good clean bites every time. At some places the shredded beef is rolled too tightly and I’m always pulling out large slugs of meat with each bite, leaving an unfortunate hollow tortilla tube.

Rancho Viejo Mexican Food

Underneath that heaping mound of lettuce is a really tasty order of rolled tacos! 😅

Casa Reveles

Outstanding taquitos with all the fixin’s at Casa Reveles in Ramona! Not the best Mexican food around but it’s always a delight to see Victor.

Manana’s Mexican Food

Tasty order of rolled tacos from Manana’s in Ramona, CA!

La Sirena Grill

Probably the most beautiful looking and artfully constructed order of taquitos I’ve ever been served!

Nuevo Grill & Cantina

Love happy hour at Nuevo Grill! My fave on the HH menu continues to be the taquitos. Only $3.50, it’s their excellent carne asada meat chopped up, mixed with jalapeño and their red enchilada sauce, all grilled up, then hand-rolled into these tasty stubby chubbies… M-F 3-6p, worth a visit (depending on what you order). Plus the dollar off drink specials and outstanding chips & salsa.

Los Amigos

There is this phenomenon that occurs at many SoCal taco shops called creamy guacamole. Or guacamole Americano. Or as I like to call it, green mayonnaise. Anyway, a lot of people may scoff at it, but I’ve developed a fondness for it over the years. Especially good atop rolled tacos. For me, there is a time and a place for both the legit, chunky, guacamole Mexicano and this stuff.

Order of 3 base price is $4.15; it wound up being $5 with tax and card fee.

At some places the shredded beef is rolled too tightly and I’m always pulling out large slugs of meat with each bite, leaving an unfortunate hollow tortilla tube.

Typically a fan of the flautas at Mi Ranchito, I decided to try their rolled tacos and I’m glad I did!

La Cocina

Respectable order of rolled tacos at La Cocina!  Not the best I’ve had, but very good for Ramona.  Can’t beat the outstanding chips and salsa served with every dine in order.

Los Amigos

The rolled tacos here have been going down hill for some time.  This time though it was such a sad sack order!  No more.  Honestly, I’ve never seen such an appalling order of taquitos in my four decades of eating At SoCal taco shops.  At least they have a really good carnitas burrito.  And love their barbacoa too…
