Wendy’s

Wendy’s is now serving breakfast and I tried it recently. Outstanding chicken biscuit with some sort of honey-butter sauce. The hot biscuit wasn’t quite up to Mack Donald’s standards but it was tasty nonetheless. Those tater wedge things were very good too.

These little Crispy Chicken BLT things at Wendy’s are super tasty! Great alternative to a burger and really inexpensive.

Wendy’s

One of the better specialty burgers I’ve had recently was the Bacon Jalapeño Cheeseburger at Wendy’s! Made with a quarter pound hot beef patty, pickled jalapeños, applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, crispy fried onions, a savory cheese sauce and a smoky jalapeño sauce. Not as messy as it sounds, it ate really well.

Wendy’s

I’m a big fan of the Baconator Burger at Wendy’s, but their so-called Baconator Fries leaves something to be desired. It’s pretty much just fries with some squirt cheese and a few pieces of bacon. Dave Thomas must be spinning in his grave.

Wendy’s

Unfortunately the Crispy Chicken Caesar Wrap is no longer on the menu at Wendy’s. The alternative was tasty enough but just not the same. This is the Homestyle Chicken Go Wrap. Made with crispy chicken breast, crisp lettuce, cheddar cheese and smoky honey mustard.

Wendy’s

Probably one of the most pathetic looking sandwiches I’ve had from Wendy’s.  The so-called Crispy Chicken BLT may have looked like a sad sack, but it was actually very tasty.  This was kind of a surprise because I usually get expertly crafted, nice looking sandwiches and burgers from Wendy.  And of course you can never go wrong with an order of Baconator Fries!

Wendy’s

Fast food purveyors of late have been going all spicy and hot with their special sandwiches. Ghost pepper this, el diablo that, etc…I’m planning to try most of these and I started recently with our own Ramona Wendy’s and the “Jalapeño Fresco Spicy Chicken”.

For $5.49 (sammich only) it consists of a classic spicy (fried) chicken patty; colby pepper jack cheese; fresh jalapeño; ghost pepper sauce; all enveloped by a “red jalapeño bun”.

I was anticipating intolerable heat, but it wasn’t really that overbearing. I only had to blow my nose twice. The so-called ghost pepper sauce seemed more like nacho squirt cheese. The chopped jalapeño was a nice touch.

Overall it was a decent sandwich, but probably wouldn’t order it again. The bun could have been fresher. I’m thinking these flavors would pair better with a ground beef patty, so I’m looking forward to trying some of the spicy hamburger creations. Limited time only no doubt.

Wendy’s

Ramona Wendy’s for lunch the other day! Tried the “limited time only” GoudaBacon Cheeseburger. For $5.29 (sammich only) it’s made with aged gouda, swiss gruyere fondue, applewood smoked bacon, etc., all on a brioche bun.  It was really good, but pretty messy with all the oozing drips. Not recommended for in-car dining! (Especially while driving).

This is another Wendy burger that looks pretty close to their promotional material. The fondue was better than expected with a decent flavor and good body. Wasn’t all watery and bland.

Burger came out hot & juicy and the brioche bun seemed fresh and stayed together throughout the eat. Nice change from the last burger I had at JIB…

Wendy’s

Probably the only fast food restaurant I would order a salad is Wendy’s.  I dearly adore their Caesar salad with spicy, crispy chicken.  Even if I have to ask for an extra dressing packet.

Wendy’s

I recently ordered a Crispy Chicken Sandwich from Wendy’s dollar menu (or as they say “right price right size menu”).  Surprised to see it come with cheese and pickles!  Not a bad meal, if coupled with some fries and a frosty.
